My One Money Advice (MOMA Meme)

thumb

This meme was featured in MSN Money Smart Spending — thank you Donna & Karen.

I came across a post by Chris Garrett where he asked Can Bloggers Make a Difference? and encouraged Bloggers to write about environmental issue on October 15, 2007, aka Blog Action Day. Our M-Network members will be participating to support this worthy cause. I invite you to do the same. Even if you do not have a blog, tell your friends about Blog Action Day and October 15th.

Inspired by this, I am starting a meme, called MOMA MEME. My hope is to help promote financial responsibility and awareness in our hyper consumption society.

The question: If you can give one advice, tip, or story related to money, what would you share?

“Save 10% of your income and make it automatic”

Previously, I shared with you how I put my savings on autopilot. I think this simple act can have a huge impact.

  • Saving 10% of your pay can help secure your financial future
  • Less money to spend means less consumption and less impact on the environment
  • Less reliance on our stressed social security and social welfare system
  • Less stress about money means happier and healthier life
  • Have you look at our U.S. National Debt lately?

I would like to know what my friends Plonkee, Glblguy, Brian, PaidTwice, and Hin have to say about their one money advice. If you are not tagged, please feel free to join and tag your friends.

Lastly, I am building a list of everyone that participates in the meme. Let me know about you post by linking to this page, send a trackback, or leave a comment. Thank you.

Here’s mine: Life’s too short to drink bad beer.

A short way of saying, enjoy the good things in life because quality matters, something we frugal often forget. You can save money on food with Kraft boxes of mac and cheese, but what’s the point? Go good, just go a little less. One good bottle of Guiness is worth a case of Budweiser.
