Weekend Reading: April 20, 2008
April 20, 2008 by Pinyo.
This was a great week for members of the M-Network. Here are just a few highlights:
- First, be sure to check out our brand new M-Network Blogs home page.
- Being Frugal welcomed CNN readers after her blog was featured CNN Living, $10,000 for child’s birthday party?
- Single Guy Money was cited as one of the best personal finance blogs. Also congratulation to Million Dollar Journey who was included in the same article.
- Lastly, Moolanomy was showcased on the Frugal Hacks and TheStreet.com
Here are some of the noteworthy blog posts:
- 10 Signs That You Should Cut Up the Plastic for Good (GP) at Mrs. Micah — Good list, but I like my credit cards. I pay them off every month and get a bunch of cash back rewards for using them.
- Supercharging the debt snowball at Plonkee Money — Dave Ramsey’s Debt Snowball has a counterpart in the UK, Martin Lewis’ Credit Card Shuffle. Martin’s technique focus on the math rather than the psychology. You can read more about it at Plonkee’s and she also included a downloadable worksheet in the post.
- A quick and easy way to control spending at Brip Blap — Another non-budgeter personal finance blogger…just like me! He shares a great money saving technique in this post — don’t miss it.
- 6 Simple Financial Tools at The Wisdom Journal — Ron has a hot streak on social media sites recently and it’s not a surprise when you read his posts. There were so many good articles this week, but this is the one I like best.
- Stock Splits 101 at My Dollar Plan — A good primer on stock split. Don’t forget reverse split, that is when a company combines shares — i.e., two shares become one.
- How to Fail completely - Failing 101 at The Penny Saved — Saving the best for last. This is an awesome must read post. It’s very amusing.
Lastly, some reminders:
- Each comment or trackback you leave earns you 1 entry toward the $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway. Be sure to tell your friends about this because they can win too.
- The Revolution Money Exchange sign-up bonus offer was extended to May 15. So sign up to get your $25 now, or $60 if you sign up your spouse using your referral link.
