Weekend Reading: April 13, 2008
April 13, 2008 by Pinyo.
This afternoon I ran across a few interesting articles I’d like to share. But first, I’d like to remind you that there’s still 17 days left before I pick one lucky winner to receive a $50 Amazon gift certificate. The winner will be randomly chosen from the comments and trackbacks left in April — so you could leave a comment, or link to Moolanomy to enter…the more the better!
- Earlier this week LendingClub announces that it no longer accept new lenders and terminates the referral program (via The Dough Roller). This drew various responses among the PF bloggers: Chief Family Office is happy she procrastinated and didn’t start lending, Lazy Man thinks LendingClub is dead, and Four Pillars asked Is LendingClub Bankrupt?
- My Two Dollars shares hundreds of free downloadable legal forms.
- Fabulous Financials lists hidden costs of owning a home.
- Bible Money Matters ask should parents pay for their children’s college tuitions?
- My Super-Charged Life shares mistakes he has made in running a business.
- The Financial Blogger talks about couples with different levels of income.
- Brip Blap talks about investment paralysis.
- Oh My Aching Debts gives us 10 steps to take if we can pay our bills.
- Lastly, Financial Learn gives us 5 reasons people suck at saving money.
Lastly, don’t forget to check out these money making and money saving opportunities. Check it out because you might be able to grab a few dollars today.

Thanks for mentioning my post! I hope it can help a few people before they get into the situation I found myself in recently.
Thanks for the link. I hope Lending Club does come back, but if it takes a long time to do so, then it might be hard for people to trust them again.
Mike
Thanks for the link, I appreciate it!
Thanks for the mention of my (Prosper blog) post! It is very interesting seeing all the takes on Lending Club so far, isn’t it? - Steve
Thank you for the mention, Pinyo!
Thanks for the linky love!
I’ve only just got round to reading these but I thought the last one “5 reasons people suck at saving money.” was excellent. If we can figure out why we are so bad at it then we can put tings in place to overcome those barriers and work towards good welath building strategies.
