Do Follow Personal Finance Bloggers Blogroll
By Pinyo • Jul 29th, 2007 • Category: MiscellaneousSorry, this list is now closed.
This is a list of personal finance bloggers that turned off the “nofollow” tag from comment links. By turning off “nofollow”, these bloggers allow search engines to find other sites (possibly your site); especially, new sites that may not otherwise be discovered easily by search engines.

If your personal finance blog is a “Do Follow” blog, please send me your link (through contact form or comment form) and I will add you to the list.
Note: I got the idea to start this post from Money Blog Network Forums.
Here is a large BumpZee No Nofollow, I Follow, Do Follow Community, where I got the iFollow graphic from. It is also a good place to learn more about this Do Follow movement.

This is a good list. Thanks for the link!
My blog is on blogspot, and links have a nofollow tag. I looked for a setting that would switch this off.
If anyone knows how to allow links on blogspot to be followed, please let me know.
King of Debt - thank you for being a Do Follow blogger.
EMF - looks like a good site. I have to give it a read when I have some free time. You can read Andy Beard’s Ultimate List of DoFollow Plugins: Banish NoFollow From Comments and Trackbacks. He links to a post that shows you how to do it.
Count me in.
Do-follow for all.
This is awesome! You can add The Frugal Law Student to the list of do follow personal finance bloggers.
Golbguru and Brett - welcome on board!
I’m officially following the do-follower followers and followed the other do-followers by implementing do-follow last night (sorry, couldn’t resist).
In other words, you can add me to the list now!
glblguy - welcome to the list
Sweet!
I have Follow as well
.
Sun - welcome on board, and welcome to Moolanomy!
As far as a I know, momentonmoney.com allows for links in the comments. If it does not, would someone let me know?
Art - welcome to Moolanomy. I noticed Typepad uses redirect links for comments. I am not sure how to go about changing that to direct links.
Anyway, I have you on my blogroll. So you that should be helpful for the time being.
Does anyone know how to remove the nofollow in word press? Perhaps i should know this, but why would anyone want to? It seems to be inviting spam.
Jason - I use Nofollow Case by Case Plugin. Having nofollow help search engines find other great sites and encourage more comments from the Bloggers community.
You should be able to deal with spam using Spam Karma, Akismet, or some sort of challenge question plugin.
No follow over here!
Of course, I meant “do follow” over here.
David - welcome to the club.
Thanks for adding me to the list.
So I get “credit” for this right?
Patrick…no problem!
I will have to try out that plugin. Thanks!
You twisted my arm. I’m allowing the follow.
Jason - Welcome to the club, glad to have you on the list. Nice looking site you have there!
I have the link love plugin that allows do follow after 10 comments
(I am computer ignorant but my husband is going to alter it to after 1 comment when he gets to it on his to do list lol)
So I am do follow!
I have been considering moving to a dofollow format for my blog - but am concerned about the about of spam comments being added.
Does anyone have some experience with this issue and how to prevent it?
Thank you.
@Glenn - welcome to Moolanomy. I don’t think Do Follow has any bearing on spam — you’ll get a lot of spams regardless.
As for preventing it, if you have the answer, you’ll be rich.
I changed the name of the comment processing file, use Akismet, and block offending IP addresses. It helps a bit, but doesn’t prevent spam.
Pinyo - I wish I did have the answer to spam. LOL I use Akismet and it does appear to cut back on the spam greatly.
Have you considered using a math formula to prevent bots from spamming?
I don’t want to impose on my readers. But if it gets really bad, I may have to.
Joking with you - you add a caculator for those readers that are bad with basic mathematical skills. LOL
Hello EMF,
There are instructions for removing no-follow from blogspot here at Andy Beard: How To Remove Nofollow On New Blogger - Dofollow on Blogspot
I hope that helps.
As for preventing spam, I usually take their post, but it on my blacklist of serial spammers for everyone to see, put ‘nofollow’ on one of their spam links but change their anchor text to something they wouldn’t want, e.g. “I am a blog spammer”
No nofollow here too
