Competition is difficult, more and more applicants/over-qualified applicants are lowering their expectations. If you have skills take your time and don’t become discouraged all things will come in time. If you have little skills, use thing time to grow your abilities and make yourself more employable, for many that means going back to school and hitting the books.

How about this trait: successful are lucky. That’s not to say that all successful people have achieved their successes through sheer luck. But being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right people count, too.
