7 Random Things About Me

It looks like Paidtwice (a fellow M-Network member) tagged A Penny Closer, who then tagged me. Aside from my about me page, and the random revelations here and there, I haven’t really talked about myself much. So here are seven random things about me:

Image from Wikimedia Commons
- I had a Bachelor in Biochemistry — As per “7 Mistakes I Made When I Went to College,” Biochemistry wasn’t a subject that I love. So the degree is sitting in the closet doing nothing.
- I rode my bicycle from the U.S. to Canada — This was about a 60 miles trip I made in 2002. This was the detail:
- I can speak and read two languages — I spent my childhood in Thailand, so I can speak Thai. Otherwise, I have been in New York since I was 11.
- I love computer programming — I was a member of my high school computer programming team (geeky). We entered several competitions, but never won. I also did quite a bit of web programming using HTML, ASP, PHP, VBScript, and JavaScript; along with some SQL programming in the past few years.
- I have beaten a chess Master once — I was also a member of my high school chess team (more geeky). I was able to beat my coach once before I graduated high school. At that time, he was considered a Master level player according to U.S. Chess Federation rating system.
- I am a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan — I started following NASCAR in late 1999 and became a fan of the Intimidator. When Dale Earnhardt died in a crash in the last lap of 2001 Daytona 500 race, I became Junior fan. I hope he does better with the Hendrix Motor Sport next season.
- I dig Greek mythology — My love for Greek mythology started while I was in high school. I am not a Greek Mythology buff, but I did read the Iliad and the Odyssey about 3 times each. Other than that, I also enjoy reading legendary stories — e.g., I read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong twice.
As it is customary in memes, I will tag some of the bloggers I recent came into contact with:

You got it Pinyo, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I’m off to an Oktoberfest festival in my hometown.
Please drink a few extra beers for me.
You’re a junior fan???!!!????
Oh well…guess it’s not so bad, at least he’s driving for Hendrick now
I’m a huge Jeff Gordon fan!
Oh no!
I became number 3 fan because I got sick of seeing the Rainbow Warrior leading every race.
I hope HMS gives him good cars and that Jr. does well next year. I can’t imagine the pressure being the Intimidator’s son.
#24 winning, well trust me #3 won far to often for my take before Gordon started driving. I was a big Davey Allison fan. When I first starting watching Nascar, I decided to pull whoever the rookie was, it was Davey that year. When Davey died, I did the same. The rookie that year was Jeff. I actually was a Jeff fan before he starting winning so much.
#3 won tons of races when I pulled for Davey and when Jeff first started. I always respected the Earnhardts, but just couldn’t pull for them. Sort of like being a Redskins fan and not liking Dallas.
They’ll will give him a good car and a strong team. He just isn’t as talented as Jeff, so won’t help much
This is a great idea. It sounds like a good change of pace. I will definitely participate.
@glblguy – at least Junior is not a whiner.
@Matt – Thank you. I see that you posted yours. I am heading over to read it now.
HA! I’ll behave myself
