Tomorrow is Labor Day, I hope that you’re enjoying your long weekend (if you have one). For me, Labor Day is a good time to reflect about the reasons why you are working at your job or business. Is it for money? to support your family? to fulfill a dream? Do you hate your job? living with it? or love it? If you hate your job and just working for the money, may be it’s time to move on. As you look at my list of top 10 below, you’ll notice that I am quite preoccupied about my career and the thought of moving and buying a new home.
Here are some great articles I found this week, not in any particular order of goodness:
- Seven Career Killers at Kiplinger – If there’s a list of seven deadly sins for your career, this is as good as any.
- What’s worth keeping? at MSN Smart Money – My little house has a lot of people living in it and some of them are hoarders, so I can totally relate to this article. The last time we moved (over 10 years ago), we threw out over 20 large 50-gallon bags — basically, we lived with a pile of garbage for years.
- 5 common buyer mistakes in a short sale at The Dollar Stretcher – If you’re planning to buy a short sale or foreclosed home, here are five common mistakes to avoid. Take a read.
- Yes, the Housing Market Has Rarely Looked Better at Yahoo! Finance – Is this a good time to buy a house? James from SmartMoney thinks it is.
- When Saying Goodbye to $1030 is a Good Idea at My Dollar Plan – Some expenses are totally worth it when you’re buying a new house.
- Learn Personal Finance from The Bible, not the Federal Government at Debt Free Adventure – Are you in need of sound and practical financial advice? Here’s a great place to start.
- 5 Things Your Parents Didn’t Teach You About Money at Green Panda Treehouse — Some great financial tips distilled from Green Panda’s experience.
- 7 Milestone Birthdays That Affect Your Retirement at Redeeming Riches – Mark your calendar and take note of these 7 important dates.
- 11 Dumb Ways to get in Debt at Financial Highway – Great list of financial pitfalls.
- Investing Done Right Isn’t Made for TV at Morningstar Advisor – Here’s a left jab and a right hook at Jim Cramer and CNBC.
