Moolanomy weekly roundup #7: “Budgeting” edition
By

On Friday, I wrote “Discover your money values and financial demons.” The idea was to keep track of every pennies spent in order to learn about your spending habits, priorities, and money leaks. I have never been a big fan of budgeting because it is tedious — as long as I have money to spend and invest, I am happy. With that post, I am thinking about giving budgeting a try. Here are some posts from my feed reader about budgeting:

- I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…, I have a thinking hangover — shared with us the headache of getting everything to add up.
- Being Frugal, Tracking My Spending Again — discussed the challenges she is facing with budgeting and mentioned a site called Pear Budget.
- Christian PF, How to quit spending more money than you make — this is basically the idea of budgeting…spend less than you earn.
- Wise Bread, Choosing Between Apples and Oranges — discussed the virtue of making conscious decision to live and spend your money a certain way.
- The Frugal Law Student, 3 Personal Finance Habits I’m Trying To Develop — shared with us a simple (interesting) budgeting system using envelopes.
- Tight Fisted Miser, Budgeting and the 60% Solution — offered an alternative to budgeting. This is how I budget, so I can definitely agree to this system.
- My Money Blog, Marriage and Money: Allowances For Adults? — forget budgeting! How about giving yourself an allowance instead?
- The Simple Dollar, Eight Simple Ways To Reduce Food Costs — shared a real life example of how his family reduced their food budget from $1,000 to $250 a month.
Well, that is it for now. Have a great Sunday!
