April is Financial Literacy Month and I’ve joined force with 30 other bloggers to write for a nonprofit organization in a series called Thirty Steps To Financial Wellness. Specifically, I’ll be writing an article for Step #15 entitled Securing your financial future. Please be sure to bookmark this web site and follow our progress through the month of April. I guarantee that you will be more financially savvy after the month is over.

  • To Buy a House…or Not? at Being Frugal — Should a new college grad with a $50,000 job buy a house right away? Here are our answers.
  • Redneck Bank: Makes Bankin’ Funner at LifeStyler – I was just joking with my colleagues about Redneck Bank the other day, asking would you deposit money at a bank call Redneck Bank just to get the highest savings rate? And the name pop up again at a few other blogs…interesting.
  • Strategies For Raising Funds: Borrow Your Way To Wealth at The Shark Investor — With exception of taking out a mortgage to buy a house, I am not an advocate of borrowing to invest — well, unless the loan is really cheap. This article is a nice introduction on how you can borrow money to make more money.
  • The Bright Side of the Recession at Wealthier Every Day – When everyone is down and depressed, this article gives you the glass half full picture of this recession and economic crisis.
  • Using Margin to Lower Trading Costs at Four Pillars — I try to avoid investing on margin when I could, but this article demonstrate an interesting concept on how you can save money on trade commission by leveraging your margin account.
  • 29 Good Reads About Kids And Money at Good Financial Cents — Any article that combine kids and money are usually good. When you have an article that highlights 29 of these articles, it must be great. Take a read!
  • The Difference Between Trading and Investing at The Essentials of Trading — Definitely an interesting article that could provoke strong responses. The most valuable for take away for me was the importance of having an exit strategy. This is one area that I have to work on myself.
  • Irrational Pessimism? at Million Dollar Journey — Another glass half full perspective that I like.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for the link. The question of what is trading and what is investing is one that definitely can be viewed from many different angles.
