Moolanomy weekly roundup #6: “Money Wasters” edition

By Pinyo • Sep 2nd, 2007 • Category: Weekly Roundups

I would like to think that I started the movement with Top 10 money wasters, are you guilty?, but I doubt it. So, here are other posts about money wasters, money leaks, unnecessary expenses, or whatever you want to call it.

Other posts I enjoyed this week:

  • ChristianPF, Money Doesn’t Solve Money Problems. Amen. Are they NEEDS or WANTS? Most of the items we “need” today — e.g., cell phones, laundry machines, dishwasher, internet connection, etc. — did not even exist a few decades ago.
  • Being Frugal, Paying Off Debt is All About Choices. Being frugal also works well for building wealth. I think controlling expenses is the most effective mean of getting out of debt and building wealth.
  • Millionaire Mommy Next Door, 5 Things The Marshmallow Test Can Teach You About Money. This was a really interesting story. I guess being less impulsive and having good discipline helps.
  • Mapgirl’s Fiscal Challenge, Not Every 401k Plan is Created Equal. My plan just changed a few months ago and I cannot say I like the web interface better — I do like the funds much better. I also manage 401k for mom and dad. I can definitely agree with Mapgirl on this one.
  • Brip Blap, ten tips for new bloggers. Looks like I am doing okay according to this list.

Lastly, congratulation to Trent and wife on their new baby girl!

    Thanks for the mention Pinyo.

Btw, the news thingie at the top of the right sidebar is cool.

Hope you have better luck with the new hosting company. I have tried two of them for now, and both seemed good for a while and started giving problems a couple of months down the line. Don’t know what’s up with these hosting folks.

mapgirl and Golbguru - you’re welcome.

Golbguru - thanks for the feedback. I hope this one works better for too because it is really a painful process to move hosting.
