Share Your Favorite Financial Websites and Win $50

thumb

There are a lot of financial websites out there.  Unfortunately, there are some really good ones that you may not have heard of before.  Over the past few months, I have been trying to collect these financial sites into my Personal Finance Directory (please check it out, explore, rate, and review these sites).  But I am just one person and the 50 sites listed are just the tip of the iceberg.

In order to find and add more sites to the directory and share the best resources with my readers, I need your help.  Please add a comment with your favorite financial sites below.  If you are a blogger or a webmaster, please let your readers know so that they can pitch in and get a chance to win up to $50. Specifically, you’ll get 1 chance to win when you leave at least one comment, and an extra chance to win on each site/blog you announce this giveaway to your readers (please email me with link(s) to the announcement).

At the end of February, I will randomly pick two winners to each win a $25 Amazon gift card, and if you’re really lucky your name could be picked twice.

My Favorite Financial Sites

Here are some of my favorite financial websites to get you started.

Money Management

Investing

  • Google Finance — A nice portal to keep track of the market, news, and portfolio tracking.
  • Wikinvest – Up and coming Wiki specifically designed for investors
  • MoneyAisle — Let you find the best interest rates for High Yield Savings and CDs.  Here’s my review of MoneyAisle.
  • Lending Club — A social lending network where you can invest by making person to person loans.  Currently Lending Club boast an average returns of 9.05%.

Credit Report and Credit Score

Shopping Rebates and Discounts

  • RetailMeNot.com — Great coupon portal where you can find discount and free shipping coupons.
  • Ebates — Online rebate portal that pays you to sign up and gives you rebates for over 900 retailers.  It even works in combination with RetailMeNot.com for even more savings.

Other

  • Zillow — Free home value estimation and property search
  • PFBlogs.org — Stay on top of what’s going on in the Personal Finance blogging world.

I’ll stop right here and let you tell me about your favorite web sites.  Feel free to throw in some blogs and other smaller sites too.

What are your favorite financial, business, and personal finance websites and/or blogs?

I like WSJ Online Personal Finance News. Unbiased.

I also like what’s going on at FNBO Direct’s Pay Yourself First Challenge (shameless plug).

You don’t seem to have Morningstar on there. I find that completely horrifying! It’s so awesome for researching investments.

Thanks for the mention in your list. I think we are in great company.

I do want to point out that Credit Karma is not a credit score estimate. It is a factual credit score based on your credit report. In fact, it is the same score that dozens of sites charge $15 a month to access.

Touting my own horn here. We launched http://www.vilkri.com a little while ago (even though we need to make it look a little better). vilkri is a virtual financial coach that generates stories customized to a user’s financial situation. For example, it creates 6000 unique reports when analyzing a user’s debts. vilkri aims to help people who are not very comfortable with numbers and personal finance issues by presenting topics with text rather than numbers, tables, and charts.

    Great idea for a post!

Well, of course I’d like to think Darwin’s Finance is the best around, but I’d be kidding myself!
Seriously, when I need a quick snapshot of everything from Stock Market trends to legislation impacting my taxes and income to personal finance, I jump over to: http://www.cbsmarketwatch.com. They update quite frequently, the comment chains are usually pretty amusing and it gives me plenty of new investment ideas (and blog post ideas as well!).

I love love love http://www.consumerist.com — not necessarily all about finances, but absolutely essential information about how to handle things that go wrong in the process of being financially responsible. (Debt collectors, companies that take your money without delivering product, etc.)

I’ll second the support for Yodlee. I also recommend using redfin.com for anyone looking for a home in large areas like DC. The search engine is very good. I didn’t use their Realtor service, although it seems like a good option for someone who doesn’t already have a relationship with a Realtor.
