• Move Retirement Account Or Stay Where I Am? at My Two Dollars — This one discusses whether or not you should move your investment due to poor performance.  In this case, the reader wasn’t happy with his Fidelity managed account.
• Money Management and a New Career at Cash Money Life — This one was a question from a very young person who has question about making the right financial moves so that he’ll have a secure retirement.

• Sacrifice and Save Money with Store Brands at The Happy Rock – For me, it’s a hit or miss with generics.  But in this economy we need to do everything we can to save money and this is a good money saving tip.
• What to Do When You Lose a Credit Card (or Your Wallet) at MoneyNing — This is a handy article to help you work through the crisis of losing your wallet.
• ‘Toxic Assets’ Made Easy at The Wallet (video) — If you are curious about the Toxic Assets concept and how they affect our financial sector and ultimately the economy, this video did a good job of explaining it.
• 8 Fundamental Money Lessons for Kids at Million Dollar Journey — I always like reading about how to teach children, especially with money.  This is a great article to have in the collection.
• Financial Action Plan for January at Money Smart Life — Here’s a good list to get your 2009 going in the right financial direction.
• Begging at Four Pillars — Very interesting.  I’ll let you read and decide for yourself.

Investing Articles

• Fixed Annuities – Are they right for boomers? at Consumer Boomer – Good explanation of annuities and good discussion.  I think fixed annuity is the only sensible annuity, and even it is expensive and should be considered carefully before buying.
• Roth IRA: Lump Sum or Dollar Cost Average? at Broke Grad Student — I think if you have the money to invest now, DCA is not the right choice.  Although DCA works well in volatile and down market, it doesn’t work so well in the long term or generally up market.  Since we know market timing doesn’t work, I think lump sum investing is the right way to go.
• Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) Is A Scam at Amateur Asset Allocator — I don’t know if scam is the right word, but SRI investing usually reduce your performance and is more expensive.  Also, SRI is a huge gray area.  In the end, I think it’s better to invest for performance and then donate to charities you support.
