Marshalls And TJ Maxx Gift Cards Giveaway

thumb

It’s holiday shopping time and some of you may still be working through your shopping list.  Shopping online is a good way to save money, but it’s also nice to be at the store and walk around — this is especially true for clothing.  A great compromise between being at the store and saving money is to visit off-price retailers like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. These stores carry brand name merchandise found in department stores, but for much less — and sometimes beating online prices as well.

In fact, my wife and I went to one this weekend and we finished off about half of our shopping list.  It’s great to be able to walk into the store and know that most of the items are already close to 50% off the retail price. With everyone tightening their budgets, shopping off-price retailers will help you find gifts for everyone on your list without making sacrifices.

The Marshalls And TJ Maxx Gift Cards Giveaway

Recently, I got my hands on three $25 gift cards for Marshalls and TJ Maxx, and in the spirit of giving I would like to give them away.

I like going to Kohl’s because they often have great deals and they are located close to my home. TJ Maxx and Marshall’s are similar stores. I always try shopping at those locations before going to the mall. I prefer buying clothes in classic styles, so I don’t need the trendy fashions. ;)

Great giveaway! I love shopping Marshalls and TJMaxx for home stuff and for my kids. They have the best shoes for kids and when they go on clearance, I can get Stride Rites or New Balance kid shoes for just a few dollars.

Thanks, Pinyo! Now pick me :)

If Kohl’s counts, I found some great name brand trailrunners @ Kohls for only $25!! I love these shoes! But my experience is that I often dislike having to pore through racks of clothes…then again, I do like great deals. A lot. So if I won the Marshalls card (There’s no TJ Maxx by me), it’d be a great incentive to give these stores another chance!

I have a nice, new TJ Maxx/HomeGoods by my house that I’ve gotten the best finds at. I love it where someone asks me where I’ve gotten some item of clothing and they thought I paid a lot for it. I’ve found with stores like this that you have to go often since you never know what you’ll come across. Of course the downside of this is you have to be careful of the impulse buys!

I always shop at Ross or Marshals because I’m a poor college student and am stuck in a part-time job that I can’t stand. I don’t make a lot money so I always try to watch how much I spend on clothes. Plus, discount retailers like Marshals and Ross have good clothing. So I always feel like I am getting quality for my money. Merry Christmas to you and to all of the readers.

i usually shop for my work dress shirts at Marshall’s. It does take some time to sift through the stuff the major retail dept couldn’t sell (there is a reason those clothes are there), but you can find great gems once in a while!

It’s funny how time flies. I remember plain as day being in high school in the 70’s and having my mom take me to both TJ Maxx and Marshalls to buy school clothes. I have done the same thing with my daughter and never gave it a second thought. Now my daughter is getting old enough to have kids of her own, I wonder if she’ll follow in the same footsteps?

We have a TJMaxx near us and I frequently find high quality toddler clothes there. I can find them for the same prices (or cheaper) than lower-quality department stores. We also buy almost all of my husbands ties for work there. We can always find some for under $10. Great give-away!

My husband and I recently did Midnight Madness at our local Prime Outlets. There were many lines, but it was worth it. We got all name brand stuff for at least 50% off the already reduced prices. When we got home and talleyed up what we brought, we had saved just over $800 on our purchases! My only regret is that I didn’t wait in the line to get into Coach. They were selling $400 handbags for $79! Oh well…maybe I’ll catch a deal like that again in my lifetime.

I love going through the random racks of goodness at the discount stores. I once found a beautiful white JCrew winter coat at Gabriel’s for $25. Great giveaway…$25 can go a long way at these stores!

I just started shopping at TJ Maxx this year at a friend’s urging. She’s extremely frugal and has great success there. I’ve gone several times and had pretty good success. $25 will go a long way during the holidays.

Six years ago when I was about to enter the workforce after College, my husband introduced me to Marshall’s and TJMaxx. I expected expensive prices when I walked in the doors, but was shocked at how many things very affordable. I recently found Burke’s too. If it were not for “off price” places like these, I would not have 1/2 of the “business attire” that I now own.

We shop at Marshall’s all the time. I’ve found that you can’t go there looking for something specific – “today I need some cargo shorts” – but you can just keep an eye out for things you’ve been needing, like a new belt. We’ve bought a lot non-clothing stuff there, too – olive oil or toys and even a hassock once. The deep discounts beat anything at Wal-Mart, and it’s usually much higher quality stuff. Great contest!

When times were good I loved shopping at Marshalls (and could definitely put a gift card there to very good use). Lately I’ve been shopping at the Salvation Army and a few weeks ago, after wishing that one day I could perhaps be the owner of a cashmere sweater, I found one! A Macy’s Charter Club beautiful soft blue crew neck cashmere sweater that appeared to be hardly worn at all was mine for $8.99 – but wait – it was 50% off day at the Salvation Army – so it was MINE for $4.50. I just love it – it’s soft and beautiful and warm.

It does needs to be dry cleaned (which is an extra expense), but I use those Dry Cleaner secret sheets in the dryer to freshen it up if needed.

That’s my best off-price shopping story for this year.

Marshall’s, Ross and TJ Maxx are all popular in Houston, and I shop them often. Recently though, was looking for a winter coat on a budget and could not find the ‘right’ coat at any of those places for under $70! When walking out of one of the above stores, I noticed a new place…. Melrose Family Fashions. Ran inside on a whim, found many selections between $20 -30!. Then found a clearance rack, with ‘my’ coat on it…. marked for $15! Then at the checkout they took off an additional 20% and marked it down to $12!!! I’ll definitely go back there in the future. They have stores in AZ, CA, NM, but mostly TX.

I love shopping at discount retailers! Only problem is you can’t always go with a specific item in mind since the inventory is always changing. And some stores are a lot less organized than others. Some favorites: Century 21, Nordstrom’s off the rack, DSW, BJ’s.

Stein Mart is the best place to get Name Brand Labels at more than 1/2 price. I think the best on-line deals are at Eddie Bauer.com/clearance you can get up to 90% off their list prices. Bteween these two shops all my Christmas shopping is done.
I was recently at the Stein Mart here in Tucson & the staff was great;’ very knowledgeable and helpful, they even have tailor sevices.

I am a huge fan of TJ Maxx and Marshall’s for home cookware. After recently going through a divorce, I needed get all new pots and pans, these places were a lifesaver! I agreed with FFB, it is best not to go with a specific item in mind, but to just look in the general area and see what treasures can be found.

Well, I see people are saying Khol’s, so I do hope that counts. People in my family often shop there because they have nice clothes for prices that aren’t too outrageous. Recently, my dad got a shirt there that was on sale! It was nice and greatly priced. Good store, I think.

While I do enjoy the great deals I get at these stores, sometimes I am just not in the mood to “search” through the massive racks of clothing to find the one thing I am looking for. There are a few stores of this type around my area that specialize in specific things, such as shoes or hosuewares. I know which stores have the greatest deals on these items and shop there if that is what I am lookign for.

    Happy Shopping!

Actually, just a few weeks ago I went into Marshalls to browse a bit since I had been heading into a number of stores. I was delighted to find some mis-matching sets of bookends. As it turns out, a hard-to-shop-for friend wanted bookends (of all things!) for Christmas — and these were sturdy, unique, funky, half-weird/half-awesome and I picked them for $14 bucks. Score.

I love both places as they offer the best price and good products for the entire family. I pretty much can do one stop shop most of the time. Both of them are the same owner so they carrie pretty much similar products and if I’m looking for something and couldn’t find it in one place I usually find it in the other store. But I know not all the store got good items as it is depending on the location of the store and the type of buyer that goes there. At the end I have to say a big fan of both store.

I can’t even remember the last time I bought clothes for myself that wasn’t at a store like Ross or TJ Maxx. I do the bulk of my shopping there, especially when I’m looking for gifts such as now because they are convenient and have great prices. This year, despite some financial hardship of my own, I am still going to sponsor some low income families in my area by buying them new clothes, so I’ll definitely be back to these stores again. I hope people will give generously especially during these tough times.

Big TJ Maxx fan here! I got a great leather handbag there marked down from $99 to 19.99 and I get tons of compliments on that bag. There’s TJ Maxx Home store not far from me and I decorated my daughter’s bedroom in the cutest floral bedspread and matching drapes for under $50.

Gee, there have been so many bargain retail outfits over the years. For a while there was a Sally’s Deals near where I lived and I got a LOT of nice things very cheaply…then the rent must have gone up and it moved away…For a while there as a $5 Clothing Store I frequented & with much searching got little trendy things there, too. Payless Shoes is good for trendy cheap shoes -but I only get things on sale there! I have also gotten clothes at odd places like corner 99 Cent Stores and whatever Big Lots used to be. (Got a lovely mauve rayon shirtdress there which I wore to death. It was in the early days of my bargain shopping and I hought everyone would KNOW – but of course, no one did.) Also undies and bras at the 99 Cent Store (every once in a while they have some from HANES & then I stock up)

The trick is to look around a LOT – because there will be junky stuff and even damaged goods – altho many irregulars are quite good enough to wear…Living as I do in L.A. where there is a garment district, there are a lot of odd lots bought from downtown with good things thrown in! Found the same in when I was in NYC area – How is it out in the Midwest? Maybe not so good….

One of the first stocks I ever bought was TJX because I always figured the bargains there were unbeatable. And they are, but Kohl’s is where it’s at for me now. I woke up at 3:30am the past two Black Fridays to watch people go nuts over the sales they had on griddles and roasters. Who knew?

In the summer, I saw a pair of Coach boots at TJ Maxx….they caught my eye. Cute colors–and COACH!! WOW! I NEEDED some tall boots, mainly to wear around our mini-farm. I picked them up—turned them over…they couldn’t possibly be..YES!!!—they were size 11! I am a tall, big-footed woman and no one ever has size 11. And the price…$12.95. OMG! My heart was racing..not only wonderful Coach boots—but in my very-hard-to-find size! And the cherry on top? They were COACH!! I could never have afforded those anyplace but at TJ Maxx!
I’ve worn them so many times since. Around the place? Some but mainly–everywhere! At a college campus once, I captured the eyes and oohs of several young girls.
If the house catches on fire, I’m running in to save those boots!

I almost exclusively shop at off price retailers like TJ Maxx (my fave), Loehmanns (runner up), and Marshalls (close 3rd). I then (because I’m well past frugal and shameless) ask for the damaged goods discount of 10% when I’m at the register, depending on the mood of the sales associate I get the discount. This works about 50% of the time. I do most of my shopping online so I can apply discount codes, but all my in person shopping is done at these types of stores.

I do find that TJ Maxx and Marshalls can have items that are high value for the price, one does have to have a little extra time to “hunt” through the clothing as it is not always organized as well or there may not be very many of a particular item. It does make it more fun, like being on a SCAVENGER HUNT!!!

We don’t have a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx here, so I’d have to save it for a trip to Albuquerque. A couple of years ago I went to Factory 2 U to get $5 coat that several of my co-workers had bought. While I was there, they had several pairs of jeans in my size for $5. When I got to the register, they were $3 each! I went back and got multiples in various sizes. (I was losing weight so I got some next sizes).

One of my favorite things at these stores is to buy the open stock dishes. I am putting together a complete dinnerware set of all unmatched dishes. It is very funky and eclectic looking on the table!

I have shopped at Ross and got some wonderful discounts. The trick is to go back as often as possible because the stock changes frequently.

ROSS dress for less refused to take back an item that still had Their UPC and price tag on it without a receipt. I don’t shop there anymore.

I like Steinmart because you can sign up for a loyalty card for free and get a discount. In addition, they send coupons in the mail and sometimes there are some in the paper. My best deals are the coupons on clearance items. I can get brand name items for a few dollars when they get deeply discounted and I apply a coupon.

I went to Ross a couple of years ago and got so many work outfits for very little money…it was really nice! Also, a lot of people don’t know, but they have a home decor section in the back of the store where they have some really nice stuff!

I haven’t actually shopped ar TJ Maxx or Marshall’s before, never knew they were off price retailers until just now. I love shopping at Ross but they don’t have one in my area or within a few hundred miles since I moved here. Thank You for the giveaway but also for giving me a couple new stores to check out. ;)

I am fortunate enough to live near Ross and Marshalls. These stores have enabled me to enjoy end of season department store prices all year round. I do not know what i would do without these discount stores because i could never afford to pay retail.

I have gotten a some good things at Ross and TJ Maxx. I feel like it took me a while to get used to “digging” for things – and I’m still learning. But, it’s fun!

I used to work at an discount retailer and I loved it. I left due to family duties, but I used to get the best deals and a discount too! My closet is filled with names such as Prada, Dolce and Gabbana and See by Chloe and I did not pay much at all!
